The Flagging class is ATSSA certified and required for anyone directing/guiding traffic or operating pilot cars on a public roadway. This 4 hour long class teaches proper techniques, placement of devices, special situations, uses real Alaska examples and is far superior to the online programs.
For individuals seeking to work in construction in Alaska, this class is also an excellent addition for your resume. Certification is valid for 4 years. Work opportunities include both private sector and government jobs. Professional flaggers in Alaska often start work in the middle of March and end the season in late October or early November.
