SAFETY TRAINING CLASSES OFFERED

Mine Safety and Health Administration Classes MSHA

Mine Safety and Health Administration Classes (MSHA)

Surface, Underground, Metal, Non-Metal, Coal for New Miners, Experienced Miners and Refreshers for the mining industry . These classes range between 8hr and 40hr programs. 

The 24hr/40hr programs also include a First Aid/CPR/AED card.

MSHA Approved

National Safety Council First Aid/CPR/AED

This 2 year certification covers the basic requirements of First Aid, CPR and AED. This course is designed to promote quick responses to job site emergencies.

Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response

Available in 24 and 40 hour courses. This HAZWOPER course is required for oil spill clean ups and designed to train individuals how to protect themselves and properly clean up hazardous substances.

ATSSA Flagging Class

Required for construction workers directing traffic on a public roadway. The course is designed to instruct on proper safety methods or directing traffic during construction season.

OSHA 10 and 30 hour Construction Classes

The 10-hour class is intended to provide workers with an awareness of common job-related safety and health hazards. The 30-hour class is for supervisors or workers wishing to learn more about safety.  Through this training, workers learn about workplace hazards, common methods to protect themselves and their rights, and responsibilities.

Forklift

Anyone operating a forklift must be certified under OSHA regulation requirement CFR 29 1910.1078. This class can cover both the classroom and hands on instruction.   The certification is good for 3 years.

Forklift Train the Trainer

This course is designed to provide training to those who will be training others on proper use of forklifts to comply with OSHA regulations.

Alaska Hazardous Paint Certification/ Refresher

This course is required for anyone who is a designated a painter or preps, paints and cleans-up 45 hours or more in a month. This is a 16 hour class for the initial class which needs to be renewed every 3 years with an 8 hour refresher .

Explosives

This State approved Blasting Certification class is required to receive a Certificate of Fitness card.  The initial Class is 32 hours and must be renewed every 3 years   with an 8 hour refresher.

IMSA Work Zone Traffic Control (Supervisor)

This 16 hour course is required for supervising flaggers or for those needing to get  traffic control plans developed/approved.  The certification is good for 3 years.

Excavation and Trenching

Anyone working around trenches and with excavation needs this class to ensure safe practices and protections from possible cave-ins, falling objects and other hazardous atmospheres.  4 hour and 8 hour courses are available.

asbestos level 1 to 4

Alaska Approved Asbestos Abatement Classes

This 40 hour class is required by the State of Alaska for people removing asbestos so they can safely handle, remove and/or clean-up in areas of potential asbestos exposure. 

Fall Protection

This course is a required OSHA training program for anyone in the construction industry that could fall. It provides instruction in protection and proper use of fall protection gear.

This course 2 hour class covers the importance of protecting the workers hearing on the job site and effective ways to reduce exposure.
